One does not have to look far to see ESG (environmental, social, and governance) risks materialize into financial and non-financial impacts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have identified 6 different types of ESG related-risks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Transition risk :<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Physical risk<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Social risk<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Governance risk<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Legal risk<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strategic risk<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Legal and strategic risks encompass all risks of financial and reputation resulting from lack of awareness, disregard, denial of ESG stakes in its policies, is essential as any failure to consider other ESG risks will have legal and strategic risks impacts and is often minimized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Best practices to apprehend those risks<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\" start=\"1\">\n<li>Ensuring alignment on ESG regulatory requirements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implementing measures of transparency to anticipate greenwashing litigations (awareness, communicating on ESG commitments\u2026)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Defining internal processes, controls associated to prevent from legal risk<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Regulators and supervisors are extending the regulatory requirements and driving improved transparency addressing ESG risks.
